NJAPP does PSL (Pumpkin Spice Latte)

Coffee Curdler Alert! (the following contains information that may compromise your pumpkin spice latte experience as you currently know it)

There may be a very good reason why your body fat percentage is falling slower than those gracefully floating autumn leaves.  I am, and forever will be, that girl who waits with anticipation each fall for September 6th so that I can get in line with the rest of you to order that “tall” cup of heaven, otherwise known as a Pumpkin Spice Latte. Unfortunately, your PSL order and its frequency may be just one suspect in our holiday season weight gains. So I order my first and only PSL on opening day (with a big dollop of whip cream just like everyone else), but this will also be my last until the following year!  

Awareness is good thing when trying to stay healthy and fit. Unfortunately, healthy and Starbucks do not always go together, especially when a grande Starbucks PSL contains 420 calories. Honestly, add 100 more calories and I would rather eat a Bobby Flay Crunch Burger with a tall glass of water than drink a cup of tricked-out coffee (sorry Starbucks). Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte is definitely a once-a-year cheat for this girl, but that doesn't mean I give up that pumpkin spice flavor completely. PSL + Whole milk, with whip:        420 calories & 160 calories from fat

PSL + Soy milk, no whip:               310 calories & 45 calories from fat

PSL + Coconut milk, no whip:       260 calories & 70 calories from fat

PSL + Nonfat, no whip:                  260 calories & 5 calories from fat

PSL + Almond milk, no whip:        230 calories & 50 calories from fat    

NJAPP-PSM  (Pumpkin Spice Misto)

PSM + Almond milk, No whip:     83 calories & 30 calories from fat.
